4. Change it whenever you like

Ask for a change, keep what you've logged, go back to an earlier version, or delete the app.

Ask your assistant for the change, in the same chat or a new one, in Claude or in ChatGPT. It reads the app’s current code, makes the change and publishes it as a new version, with a short note of what changed.

The next time you open the app with a connection, it finds the new version and shows a bar saying a new version is ready, with a Reload button. Without a connection it keeps working on the version you have. CloudCrane tells every assistant to keep reading what the app already saved, so your entries carry over to the new version.

With testing on, a change that breaks something is refused

In a workspace that tests apps, a change is sent with its blueprint and tests. Before it is kept, they run against the new code, and so do the tests of the version it replaces that the new blueprint still keeps: what you could do, and what you had saved, has to keep working. Only promises whose tests passed are kept, so a version whose tests weren’t run hands none on. If anything fails, nothing is published, the version you have stays as it is, and your assistant is told what failed so it can fix it. A refusal reads like this:

T-2 failed at step 3: expected “Water checked”, found “not checked”. It proves J-1.2.
T-1 from version 1 failed at step 2: expected “see “Milk””, found “not on the page”. It proves P-1, a kept promise from version 1: make this version keep it, or take it out of the blueprint to change it on purpose. What version 1 saved must still show in this one; if the way data is kept changed, move the old data over.

An app that saved data in one shape and now reads another fails the second way until it moves the old data over; changing a promise on purpose means taking it out of the blueprint. If the test runner itself is down, the change is refused with “Couldn’t test the app just now. Try again in a minute.” and nothing is lost.

    Going back

Every version is kept, numbered, with its note. To go back, ask your assistant (“undo that”, or “go back to the version from before the last change”), or open Apps, choose Versions on the app, and tap Make current on the one you want. Nothing is deleted, so you can move forward again the same way.

    Deleting an app

Ask your assistant, or choose Delete on the app in Apps. Every version is deleted and it can’t be brought back. On every phone it was installed on, the next time it opens with a connection it says it was deleted and stops opening; you can then remove its icon. Its address is never given to another app.
